FMLA Medical Leave Act Law

The “Family Medical Leave Act” allows for up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave from work. This means you can be absent from work for up to 12 weeks due to a family or medical crisis.

Examples of approved categories that fall under FMLA considerations include giving birth or pregnancy related medical issues. In addition if you have a parent that needs help during a medical crisis you may qualify for an unpaid leave under the FMLA Act.
